This may be caused by the following reasons:

1. You're using WeChat downloaded from unofficial channels.

2. You're using an Android emulator ( such as Bluestack, Andy, Youwave ) or other non-official plugins to run WeChat.

3. You've been reported for sending content containing lewd content, violent materials, scams, inappropriate rumors, or annoying ads.

4. You are using a virtual phone number rather than a fixed phone number service for registering your account such as from Skype In, Google's Project Fi, Google Voice, Nexmo, etc. We suggest that you register using a different mobile phone number that is not provided by a virtual phone service.


If your account has been temporarily blocked.

Troubleshoot this problem by following the instructions when you try to log in. If you're unable to unblock your account, tap here.

If your account has been permanently blocked.

When your account has been permanently blocked due to a serious violation of the WECHAT TERMS OF SERVICE, we will restrict the use of the account and will not be able to unblock the account for you.

If your WeChat Pay account still contains funds or other assets, WeChat will automatically open the assets entrance. You will still be able to log in to WeChat to withdraw funds from your Balance. However, because your account involves illegal operations, other features of the account will be restricted from using and we will be unable to release the restrictions. If you still need to use WeChat, we advise you to register for a new WeChat account and be sure to review and comply with the WECHAT TERMS OF SERVICE.

You can now back up your WeChat chat history on your phone to your computer via WeChat for Windows/Mac, and restore your phone's chat history from your computer backups.

The feature requires installing WeChat for Windows/Mac on your computer. Download and install WeChat for Windows/Mac at https://www.wechat.com/

1. Back up your chat history
First, connect your mobile and computer to the same Wi-Fi network. On WeChat for Windows/Mac, tap the icon in the lower-left corner > Backup and Restore. Then, on your mobile, select the chat history you want to back up. Confirm to begin backing up. Don't disconnect from the network or close WeChat until the backup is completed.

2. Restore your chat history
First, connect your mobile and computer to the same Wi-Fi network. On WeChat for Windows/Mac, tap the icon in the lower-left corner > Backup and Restore > Restore on phone. Select the chat history you want to restore. Then tap Confirm on your mobile to begin to restore the chat history. Don't disconnect from the network or close WeChat until the chat history has been restored.

Notes:
(1) Connect your mobile phone and computer to the same network before backing up chat history.
(2) Multiple chat history backups can be saved to the computer. Unwanted chat history backups can be deleted.
(3) When restoring a chat history to your mobile, the backed up version of the chat history will be merged with the chat history already on the mobile. The chat history on the mobile will not be deleted.
(4) WeChat for Android 6.3.31 or higher must be installed on the mobile.

Any member of a group chat can add additional contacts to participate in the group.

1. To add a member, enter the group chat and tap \"...\" in the top right corner. Tapping the \"+\" button will allow you to add a member from your list of contacts.

2. Users can scan a Group QR Code to join a group: Enter a group chat > tap \"...\" in the upper right corner > Group QR Code > tap \"...\" upper right > tap Save Image or Sent to Chat. Send the group QR Code to your WeChat friends, who can scan the QR Code to join the group chat.

Note：
1. A group chat can add up to 500 members.
2. A group QR Code is valid for 7 days.

To delete WeChat friends:

2. Select the friend to be deleted and tap into his/her profile

Try the steps below to delete your account:
After logging in to WeChat, you can request account deletion in Me > Settings > Account Security > WeChat Security Center >  Account Cancellation.

Notes:
1. If the system prompts \"Unable to Cancel\", please troubleshoot with the possible reasons shown and try again.
2. Your account data will be permanently deleted after cancellation which is irreversible, and your Wechat ID can no longer be used again.
3. Your account will be automatically logged out after the cancellation request is successfully submitted. To cancel your account deletion, log into your Wechat account within 60 days after submitting your application. After 60 days, your account and all your information will be permanently deleted, and you won't be able to retrieve your information. Meanwhile, you can still freeze your account after requesting for a deletion. The freezing operation will not interrupt the account cancellation progress.
4. Please read the Important Notice carefully before cancellation to reduce the inconvenience it may cause.

WeChat was designed with your privacy and safety in mind. For this reason, WeChat does not store your chat data on our servers to make sure that only you and your intended recipient(s) can view your messages.

However, your chat data will always be available within the app on your device as long as the app is not removed and your phone has sufficient storage space.

If you wish to back up your chat log or transfer your chat log to a new device, use the Migrate Chats to Another Device or Favorites feature.

Enter WeChat > tap + in the top right corner > Add Contacts, then you can add friends to WeChat via the following ways:

1. Search by your friend's WeChat ID or phone number

2. Add via Friend Radar. Easily add friends who are in your immediate vicinity so that you don't have to waste time getting people's numbers. 

3.Add from mobile contacts. You can see which friends are already using WeChat from your mobile address book then add them.

4. Add by scanning QR Code. You can scan another user's QR code and add them instantly! 

5. View People Nearby: You can find and add new WeChat friends by using the People Nearby feature in your Discover tab. This will enable you to add people who are close to your location.

6. Shake. You can discover and add new WeChat friends from anywhere in the world when they're shaking their phone the same time you are! This is also located in the Discover tab.

At WeChat, user privacy and data protection are our top priorities. WeChat considers user privacy and data protection not just our company's responsibility, but also a key part of our users' experience.

WeChat securely encrypts your sent and received messages between our servers and your device to help prevent unauthorized third parties from intercepting your messages as they are being delivered over the internet. WeChat uses industry-standard encryption practices and technologies, including specifically the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256, to protect the security and confidentiality of data during transit and at rest. The AES algorithm was and remains approved by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to encrypt U.S. federal sensitive (unclassified) information. AES-256 uses 256 bits to encrypt data and is currently the maximum available under the AES algorithm (as compared to AES-128 and AES-192).

To better maintain the privacy of your messages, it's important to make sure that you follow some safety tips. Read more about how to best secure your WeChat account on all of your devices.

We do not permanently retain the content of any messages on our servers whether they are text, audio or rich media files such as photos, videos, or documents, unless you or your recipient saves them as a Favorite, or it is a message the administrator of your group chat added as a Group Notice. Once 72 hours has lapsed since you sent your chat message, or 120 hours for images, audio, videos, and files, WeChat permanently deletes the content of the message on our servers. You may at any time remove any message content from Favorites and it will be deleted from our servers. Upon deletion, neither WeChat nor any and third party will be able to view the content of your message. 

When you long-press a message and select Translate, the message may be translated via a third-party translation service provider. Our service providers are required to provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in the WeChat Privacy Policy and are prohibited from retaining, using, or disclosing your information except as necessary to provide services to us.

WeChat also does not use the content of chat messages for analytical purposes or data mining.
