Account Deletion/Erasure: In order to delete your account, go to the Me tab > Settings > Account Security > WeChat Security Center and select Account Cancellation. Cancelling an account will permanently delete the account and delete associated data, except that aggregated registration data is retained for spam prevention and systems security purposes. This is an irrevocable action so please take care in requesting account deletion.

Aside from your profile, you also have control over your social media posts in Moments. Go to the Me tab > My Posts and tap on a Moment post that you previously posted. Tap delete if you wish to remove the post. Your Moments will not be made available to other users, but if another friend has already downloaded your Moments post, the Moment might still be viewable on their phone.

Please note that if you delete a chat or chat message from your phone, the chat message may still be available on the message recipient's device if it has already been downloaded. Instead, if you make a mistake while sending a message, you can also "recall" the message within two minutes after sending. This will remove the message from appearing on recipients' phones.

Data Processing and Sharing Controls: Marketing and personalized advertisements are only offered to users in certain jurisdictions. All users in these jurisdictions have the right to opt-out of their contact information (such as mobile number or email address) being used for marketing purposes. 

All users have the right to control who their personal data is shared with. We use third parties for support services, such as SMS, VOIP, payment card processing and verification, translation, location and mapping, customer service, and content delivery. We use these third-party services solely to process or store your information for the purposes described in the WeChat Privacy Policy. We also share your information with related group companies of Tencent and as required by law. Aside from the previously mentioned purposes, WeChat does not share your data with third parties without your consent.
