1. If your WeChat account has been hacked and your password or linked accounts have been changed, we advise you to request password retrieval by following the instructions below:
(1) Open WeChat and tap Unable to Log In? at the bottom of the login page
(2) Tap Request Account Recovery > Request and then follow the instructions to submit your request.
(3) After submitting a request, you will receive an SMS notification within 24 hours with the result. If your account recovery request is approved, a new WeChat password will be sent via SMS.
(4) Log in to WeChat with your WeChat ID and new password.
Notes:
(1) After using the new password to successfully log in to weChat, all previous linked accounts will automatically be unlinked.

2. If you are unable to log in to WeChat and you believe your account has been compromised, we advise you to immediately freeze your account to prevent other people from using your account inappropriately. Freeze your account by following the steps below:
(1) Open WeChat and tap More Options at the bottom of the login page.
(2) Tap WeChat Security Center > Freeze Account > Freeze.
3. To help protect your account if you lose your mobile phone or your account is compromised, log in to WeChat from a different device as soon as possible. Then, go to Me > Settings > Account Security > Manage Devices and delete any suspicious devices from the list. For your account's security, you may need to verify your identity when you log in again from any deleted devices.
Notes:
(1) Freezing your account temporarily prevents anyone from using your account and will NOT delete your account.
(2) After freezing your WeChat account, your account information will still be preserved and your friends will still be able to find you in their Contacts and send messages to you.
(3) Avoid freezing and unfreezing your account too many times. Otherwise, for account security, your account will be automatically frozen and you will no longer be able to manually unfreeze your account.
