WeChat was designed with your privacy and safety in mind. For this reason, WeChat does not store your chat log or message history on our servers to make sure that third-parties including WeChat itself are unable to view the content of your messages.

As your message history is not on WeChat's servers and only on the device(s) which initially sent or received the message, WeChat does not automatically transfer your message history between devices. If you wish to have your prior message history appear on a new device, use the Chat Log Migration or Favorites or back up your chat history to WeChat for Windows.
